Job Title: Avionics Technician

Location: Charleston, SC 29403

Duration: 6 + months assignment with possible extension

Shift Schedule: 2:00 am to 10:30 pm- Must be able to work any shift including days, nights and weekends

Pay Rate: $36/hour on W2 without benefits

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Performs flight test installations and aircraft functional testing.
  • Assists in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and avionics systems to isolate mechanical and/or electrical/electronic faults and assists in repairing faulty components.
  • Assists with pre-flight and post-flight checks and performs maintenance and modification actions.
  • Resolves identified problems during operation and testing of deliverable products.
  • Verifies the accuracy of work performed and may conduct self-inspection.
  • Assists in performing system & sub-system pre-delivery inspections and aircraft maintenance in preparation for delivery.
  • Participates in determining details of assignments to accomplish a wide range of objectives.
  • Plans, schedules and arranges own activities with the assistance of lead. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Must be able to work any shift including days, nights and weekends.
  • 6 months of avionics and/or electrical experience.
  • 6 months experience with live aircraft systems and flight operations.
  • 6 months experience/knowledge with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant license.
  • 6 months of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.
  • 6 months of 787 Program experience.
  • Familiar with Boeing Production System.
  • 6 months experience with Field/Flight Line Operations.


Typical Education/Experience:

  • Associate (Level B): Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).
