We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented NPI Buyer to join our dynamic team in the Controls Industry. This role is critical to the successful launch of new products, ensuring timely procurement of materials and components while collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, production, and suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing, cost analysis, and supplier management, with a passion for driving innovation and operational excellence.


Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, and Project Management teams to understand material requirements for new product introductions
  • Source and procure components, materials, and services required for prototype and pilot builds
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers to support NPI initiatives, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets are met
  • Manage RFQs, negotiate pricing, and establish lead times for new materials
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance during NPI phases, escalating issues as needed
  • Support transition from prototype to production by ensuring supply chain readiness and continuity
  • Work closely with Quality and Manufacturing teams to resolve issues and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Continuously seek cost reduction opportunities and supply chain efficiencies


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management, APICS CPIM) preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of MRP principles, and ability to navigate ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience in an electrical products manufacturing environment is advantageous.
