SHIFT: 7PM-7AM

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, performs electroencephalograms (EEG) at a senior level to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of cerebral impairment. Calculates and analyzes standard and special procedure testing. Provides a descriptive analysis and results according to the department policy and procedures.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:



  • Ability to perform testing independent of direct supervision and maintain a high degree of credibility through accurate analysis and interpretation of test results. Analytic ability is required for analyzing patient history to determine proper testing procedures, for calibrating equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, eliminating recording artifacts, calculating test results, and composing preliminary reports.
  • Maintain cleaning/disinfection of equipment, supplies, and electrodes, to provide safe patient care.
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information with patients, physicians, office staff, or records personnel. Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to acute medical situations, i.e., convulsive seizures.
  • Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety-related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
  • Follows the JHACH Culture statement in all interactions with patients, families, and coworkers to promote service excellence.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Is registry eligible according to the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic & Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) Guidelines.
  • A minimum of one year of work experience as an EEG Technician is required if a CAAHEP or ABHES-accredited END program was not completed.
  • Digital (computerized) diagnostic EEG equipment. Must be proficient in computer use and standard office equipment.


Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
