Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Part-Time Research Coordinator to join the NCCP team. This position will support the Department of Pediatrics by providing a dedicated Research Coordinator within the Division of Neonatology, specifically for the Neonatal Comfort Care Program (NCCP). The coordinator will assist in advancing the research efforts of Dr. Elvira Parravicini and Dr. Sinead Brady, focusing on quality improvement initiatives in perinatal palliative care. Responsibilities include initiating, coordinating, and completing research projects, as well as supporting ongoing clinical studies conducted by the NCCP team.

We are seeking a candidate who can build strong, compassionate relationships with both professionals and families. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with the principal investigator, with NCCP members and other investigators (students, fellows, advanced care practitioners and others) to help planning new research projects and assist in ongoing clinical projects.
• Interacts with clinical team members in the neonatal intensive care unit, including physicians, fellows, residents, advanced care practitioners, nurses, social workers, and others.
• Interact with study participants as directed/required by the protocol and/or study team-this will include face-to-face interactions with medical staff to conduct eligibility screening and patients to obtain consent for research participation. Comfort with patient-interaction both in person and by telephone/Zoom, and interest in building a skill set in patient rapport is essential.
• Maintain databases and performs statistical analysis of data.
• Attends NCCP weekly research meetings and prepares and performs internal progress reports.
• May contribute to publications and research presentations.
• Other research related responsibilities in accordance with research project requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of related experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, other languages are also desired.
• Previous experience working in clinical research setting is desired.
• Ability to take initiative and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required.
• A motivated and enthusiastic team player with strong organizational skills is desired.
