As anAvionics Technician, you will troubleshoot and repair avionics systems that are malfunctioning in customer aircraft.

What you'll do:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems, including FMS, Satcom, radar, autopilot, communications, navigation, and IFE systems.
  • Perform electrical/avionics installations, including routing and connecting wiring, aligning components, and fabricating wiring harnesses.
  • Conduct system testing, continuity checks, and assists in complex electrical troubleshooting.
  • Document all work accurately and adheres to FAA, manufacturer, and industry standards.
  • Operate hand/power tools and electrical test equipment, following proper safety and procedural guidelines.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and communication skills to foster positive customer relationships.
  • Adjust, repairs or replaces malfunctioning components or assemblies using hand tools and or soldering irons.
  • Assembles components such as switches electrical controls, and junction boxes using hand tools and soldering irons.
  • Connects components to assemblies such as radio systems, instruments, inverters, using hand tools and soldering irons.
  • Install electrical and electronic components, assembles and systems in aircraft.
  • Interprets flight test data in order to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems.
  • Lay out installation of aircraft assembling and systems, following documentation; blue prints, manuals, wiring diagrams.
  • Tests and troubleshoot instruments, components and assembling using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters.
  • Assembles prototypes or models of circuits, instruments and systems to be used for testing.
  • Maintains records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Sets up and operates ground support and test equipment to perform functional flight tests of electrical and electronic systems.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years Gulfstream aircraft avionics or corporate jet avionics experience

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (8+ hours), lift 50 pounds unassisted, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders to service aircraft

  • Must be able to work overtime as required

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Maintenance experience with Gulfstream, Falcon, Lear, Challenger, Embraer, Cessna, and/or Hawker airframes preferred
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License and FCC Repairmen License preferred
  • Familiarity with cabin connectivity systems and avionics products such as Starlink, GoGo, SmartSky, Rockwell Collins, or Honeywell.

  • Organized & detailed oriented: able to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent communication both written and orally (consistent, efficient, and effective)

  • Follow directions yet applies judgment and can be flexible

  • Team member yet knows when to work independently and ability to effectively work unsupervised

  • Knowledge of power sources and bonding and grounding techniques.

  • Knowledge of both electrical and electronic theories and be able to understand and follow wiring diagrams.
  • Analytical skills to perform complex mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills in order to interface with customers and employees.
  • Ability to travels to customer locations or other Standard Aero facilities

Salary: $35-40 per hour based on experience
