Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Gates Corporations has an exciting opportunity for a Global Product Line (GPLM) leader with an inclusive and collaborative leadership style who is energized and a highly influential leader for a global product line. The Role:
The Senior Manager of Global Product Line Management for Engine Metals and Water Pumps owns the strategic direction of Gates global Engine Metals and Water Pumps product lines - enabling commercial success, operational execution, and product innovation across the portfolio. This role reports to the Vice-President of Global Marketing, Product Line Management, and Pricing and works collaboratively across the organization - including the leaders within Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Technical Development.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Partner with the regional teams on achieving financial targets for the product lines - enacting actions and insights from a global perspective to achieve margin or revenue increases. Drive initiatives, new product introductions, and productivity opportunities that improve the financial health of the global Engine Metals and Mechanical Water Pumps portfolios - in cooperation with Regional PLM teams.
- Develop, present, own, and action the global product line strategies - including defining the product road map, key global strategic initiatives, cost out initiatives, and overall growth plans for the product line. Define the growth elements to the Long Range Financial Forecast (LRFF) to ensure the required capacity and investments are made in the right locations to enable the targeted growth.
- Prioritize and manage improved coverage and cost of the portfolio to best serve existing and growing markets - maximizing product coverage and delivery capability while minimizing costs.
- Enable the regional adoption goals for kit conversions via training, insights, coverage details, and product information.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the global Engine Metal market and products - including understanding competitor portfolios, share, capabilities, and manufacturing footprint - documented and updated in competitor profiles.
- Support inorganic growth opportunities with target identification, synergy development, and business case insights.
- Integrate and harmonize regional insights and competitive pressures into a product roadmap and Multi-Generational Product Plan (MGPP). Own the scoping and prioritization of clearly defined technical projects to address market or application opportunities to drive profitable growth. Balance with needs for productivity projects that will compete with new product development to maximize the overall long-term health of the product line.
- Lead new global product commercialization - including defining value propositions, key messaging, product positioning, pricing strategy, and commercialization materials. Partner with regional teams on commercialization plans and sales & adoption KPIs.
- Provide a balanced perspective and supplement resources in regional operations, technical, and commercial teams to accelerate growth of the product line.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-functioning and results driven team that can oscillate between global and regional/local requirements.
Requirements and Preferred Skills
Background Requirements:
- At least 8 years of applicable experience - including roles with global work experience and perspective, preferred in similar application environments. Applicable experience would include product line management and/or some combination of marketing, operations, engineering, and commercial roles.
- High Level interpersonal and leadership skills; must be able to influence across multiple levels within the company and locations, including establishing global partnerships. Leads through influence, with and without authority.
- High degree of managerial, leadership, and communication skills.
- Demonstration of a strategic mindset - including roadmap development. New product commercialization experience a plus.
- Strong business acumen with knowledge of go-to-market strategies.
- Experience in Engine Power Transmission businesses is a plus.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in applicable field
- MBA or similar secondary degree preferred - or applicable multi-faceted business background
Travel Requirements:
- Travel both domestically and internationally as required (20+%).
Pay & Benefits
- Full-Time
- Salary Range: $165,000 - $195,000
- Bonus Eligible
