POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of maintenance tasks to support maintenance, material handling and production as well as perform facility maintenance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Learns and performs general maintenance and repair duties on a variety of equipment, machines and facility systems

• Able to diagnose mechanical issues and repair or replace defective parts to keep machinery in optimal condition

• Working knowledge setting up, assembling, and calibrating new machinery and equipment according to technical plans and drawings

• Experience precisely fitting, aligning, and adjusting components like bearings, gears, and shafts to ensure machines operate correctly and efficiently

• Operates hand and power tools and mechanical equipment effectively and safely comply with safety requirements including use of appropriate PPE

• Skill in using a wide range of tools, from hand tools and precision instruments (calipers, micrometers etc.)

• Works under general supervision and seek assistance from higher level technicians, when necessary, to complete work with highest level of safety and quality

• Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.

• Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations such as lockout/tagout

• Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

• Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.

• Able to walk, stand, climb, stoop for extended lengths of time

• Must be able to climb and be comfortable with heights (ex. Spray Dryer= 150 ft.)

• Able to tolerate temperature extremes up to 110*F in production and outside on hot days and cold outside temperatures during the winter

• Outside work in all-weather elements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school Diploma

• Strong safety work ethic

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, must work as part of a team.

• Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and initiate repairs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• The base compensation for this position ranges from $32.93 to $43.90 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
