The Midland Division Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center is looking for someone who like to make a difference in the lives of families who are dealing with substance abuse. We are seeking a candidate to fill the role of Family Therapist at our Midtown Service and Treatment Center. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 60,000 per year. 1 William Booth Drive O'Fallon, MO 63366 Job Objective This position is expected to advance and support the Mission of The Salvation Army. Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Family Therapist will proactively provide planned, face-to-face, goal-oriented therapeutic interactions as a qualified individual with the clients and one or more members of the client's family to resolve and address the family system's dysfunction as it relates to the client's substance use disorder in accordance with the client's rehabilitation plan. May also provide individual counseling for the family/support system of clients to facilitate the development of a healthy support system. Responsibilities include assessment, intervention, treatment planning, education, counseling and referrals for clients and their families. This position will provide individual, group and family counseling. The position will also provide prevention, education, and training services. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in counseling, social work, human services, or related field with one year of related work experience in family therapy. Experience with mental health and/or addiction counseling preferred. Combination of education and experience will be considered. LPC or LCSW required with specialized education in family therapy. Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and Substance Abuse Supervision credential are preferred. If not certified obtaining the substance abuse certification after employment is preferred. Must of have at least two years of sobriety if in recovery. Must have an outgoing personality with good communication skills, ability to work in a team setting and an ability to work with difficult individuals. Strong leadership style and good organizational skills required. Knowledge of The Salvation Army and government, state and community resources is helpful. Must be computer literate and able to utilize computer for documentation of work. CPR/First Aid certification required. Must be a team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Requires a high level of confidentiality. Must have a valid drivers' license and pass TSA MVR check.
