Overview

Position will provide front-line customer service to students within the CARE Center. Position will assist with scheduling appointments, event planning, and resolution of student questions. Position will also provide assistance to employers through Handshake and meet with students to assist with resume reviews and mock interviews. This position will collaborate with other staff within the CARE Center.

Responsibilities

Student Support

    Serve as the first point of contact for students, assisting with scheduling, referrals, and general questions.
  • Meet with students to support career development, internships, and the job search process.
  • Meet with counseling/case management students to provide follow-up support, assist with resource connections, and reinforce academic and career goals.
  • Assist with resume reviews and mock interviews for current students and alumni.
  • Provide support for Non-Traditional Occupation (NTO) students through events and individual appointments.
  • Assist students with technology and software such as Vector Solutions, Headspace, Handshake, and other applications.
  • Utilize campus systems such as Banner (student information system), Early Alert System, and Blackboard (classroom management platform) to support high priority populations like NTO, parenting, and students of color.

Employer & Community Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and provide technical support for employers using Handshake.
  • Maintain job boards on campus and communicate position openings to appropriate staff and instructors.
  • Maintain and update the database of employer contacts and requests.
  • Work with community partners to identify and share resources valuable to students and their families; schedule their on-campus presence; coordinate CARE Center staff coverage at events.

CARE Center Operations & Programming

  • Support the overall goals and initiatives of the CARE Center, including the Student Cupboard, Career Closet, career exploration, data entry, and programming.
  • Assist in scheduling students to meet with CARE Center staff, including initial outreach to early alert referrals for the purpose of scheduling an appointment.
  • Assist with event planning and coordination of CARE Center programming.
  • Provide guidance and support to CARE Center student workers, including training, scheduling, and supervision.

Administrative & Grant Support

  • Assist with grant tracking, including client reporting, purchasing, submitting check requests, and documenting progress.
  • Collaborate closely with the Career Services Coordinator and Counselor/Case Manager to align with CARE Center goals and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of students receiving emergency financial assistance.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Strong customer service skills through in-person, phone, and other mediums of correspondence.
2. Strong oral and written communication skills
3. Strong attention to detail
4. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
5. Ability to organize, coordinate, and prioritize assigned job duties.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions.

Education & Experience:

1. Associate's Degree in Business, Education or related field or 2 years of comparable professional work experience.
2. Microsoft Office Suite certification or demonstrated proficiency/experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook.)
3. Previous experience in student services and/or career services related position desired.
