The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) is a part of UCI Health and the Susan & Henry College of Health Sciences. The Samueli Institute works to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-informed treatment modalities, educating the public on well-being practices, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care, and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health.


Your Role on the Team

The Program Manager of the Mussallem Nutritional Education Kitchen (MNEK) will support the day-to-day operations and long-term growth of the kitchen's culinary and nutrition education programs. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and working in close collaboration with the Chef and culinary instructors, the Program Manager will ensure that classes, demonstrations, and events are delivered smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standard of quality. The Program Manager will oversee scheduling, logistics, and resource coordination to support effective teaching and a positive, and high touch learning experience. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Program Manager will play a key role in advancing strategic initiatives related to nutritional education and community engagement. This includes developing and managing partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to expand the visibility, reach, and impact of the MENK. The Program Manager will also lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives that align with the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute's mission to promote integrative health through culinary and nutritional education. By combining strong organizational skills with a collaborative, mission-driven approach, the Program Manager ensures that the MNEK operates efficiently while continuing to grow as a center of innovation, education, and community partnership.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Analytical / problem-solving skills.
  • Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Strong policy analysis techniques.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of or experience in integrative health

Special Conditions:

  • May need to work evenings and travel and/or work weekends
