Description

Under the long-range, administrative direction of the SIU School of Medicine Associate Provost for External Relations, the Executive Director of the Illinois Campus Cares Technical Assistance Center (ICC TAC) is responsible for executing the primary goals of the statewide ICC TAC and building new behavioral health programs and services for Illinois colleges and universities. This position works with leaders of academic and clinical departments, community partners, and state and federal agencies to develop and implement the responsibilities of the ICC TAC.


Examples of Duties

ADMINISTRATION (85%)

  1. Provide executive leadership, strategic thinking, and management for achieving the goals as outlined in the Mental Health Early Action on Campus Act.
  2. Lead and manage projects and activities to completion in a timely manner with a focus on quality and achievement of ICC TAC goals.
  3. Work closely with the Associate Provost for External Relations and other SIU Medicine leaders to identify and create behavioral health programs and services for Illinois colleges and universities.
  4. Oversee the development of behavioral health resources and educational programs and materials for colleges and university participants in the program.
  5. Oversee the development and working relationship with councils, committees and work groups associated with the ICC TAC.
  6. Oversee the relationships and ongoing communications with leaders at the Illinois Board of Higher Education and at each of the colleges and universities in Illinois.
  7. Lead and manage ICC TAC staff with an emphasis on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  8. Oversee the development of the ICC TAC budget, staffing plan, contracts and subcontracts.
  9. Develop an annual scope of work, evaluation plan and program assessment materials needed to submit quarterly and annual reports for the ICC TAC.
  10. Oversee the development of marketing materials, newsletters, blogs, promotional materials and other related communications.
  11. Oversee the development of ECHO series, Mental Health First Aid trainings and other training programs, and CEUs and training evaluation materials to assess training outcomes.
  12. Convene regular meetings with state agency leaders and college and university leaders to develop, implement and evaluate the program.
  13. Identify metrics and benchmarks to evaluate the ICC TAC program and services.
  14. Work closely with internal SIU SOM offices to ensure a streamlined approach to processes and procedures as they apply to the ICC TAC.
  15. Identify and oversee the development of new grant or other funding proposals to support the behavioral health needs of colleges and universities in Illinois.
  16. Identify successful strategies and best practices used by other state programs, offices, and universities to provide ongoing analysis of grown opportunities for the ICC TAC.

RESEARCH (10%)

  1. Assess existing college and university behavioral health resources and needs.
  2. Research best practices on providing behavioral health services in institutions of higher education in Illinois.
  3. Assess the need for training services and dissemination of evidence-based models
  4. Develop an evaluation plan for implementation of new policies and procedures, benchmarks and outcome measures.

SERVICE (5%)

  1. Serve as a strategy development resource for the department leaders and staff members.
  2. Serve on University, SIU HealthCare, and external committees and work groups as deemed appropriate to the functioning of this position.
  3. Demonstrate, by actions, commitment to the mission and the behavioral standards of SIU School of Medicine. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in a relevant academic, business or healthcare field
  • Eight (8) years of experience developing programs and services within an academic or healthcare field, including the delivery of training and evaluation programs
  • Five (5) years of team development and staff supervision
  • Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented populations
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ph.D. preferred in education, public health, business or organizational development
  • Working understanding of academic processes and procedures
  • Working understanding of establishing program processes and procedures
  • Experience in building and managing relationships
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills
