Diagnostic Imaging Radiology Clinical Instructor Job Responsibilities:



  • The Diagnostic Imaging Radiology Clinical Instructor provides clinical services according to radiology practice standards and acts as a resource to Radiology Students and other technologists while ensuring optimal department functions. Acts as a liaison between Inova Health System's Fairfax Hospital Radiology Services and administrative program personnel by fostering effective and efficient educational opportunities.
  • Provides work assignments, direction and support to Radiology Students based on program and individual student needs.
  • Orients, educates and develops Student Radiologic Technologists to ensure competencies and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities.
  • Partners with other Radiology Clinical Instructors to assess direct patient contact skills, radiographic techniques, delivery of patient care and appropriateness of reactions when responding to routine and critical situations.
  • Demonstrates patient safety in department by use of side rails, braking mechanisms and patient monitoring, as demonstrated by risk management reports; Takes ownership of imaging QC/QA and, in conjunction with administrative program personnel, PI for students necessitated by clinical performance.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications



  • Education: Associate degree or Graduate of an accredited school/program of Radiology or Nuclear Medicine with a valid certification.
  • Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association upon start
  • Licensure: Must be certified by at least one of the following:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Experience: Three years of experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in a hospital/ healthcare environment.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Prior experience as an educator, instructor or mentor.
