S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Finance & Accounting department. As a Payroll Administrator, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth payroll operations and supporting our diverse team. The Payroll team is responsible for serving the payroll needs of our team members. This includes managing inquiries related to payroll, and associated payroll activities. The team provides timely and efficient support and contributes to the overall operational excellence of S&C's finance team, ultimately enhancing employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness. The Payroll Administrator in S&C's Finance Payroll team plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all U.S. Team Members located throughout the country. The Administrator is involved in supporting and leading new initiatives within the function and overseeing various payroll activities while ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal payroll deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
- Payroll Administration & Oversight: Monitor and review the Administration of payroll for S&C's team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal/tax regulations and ADP accuracy.
- Non-Exempt Payroll Oversight: Oversee the processing of the non-exempt payrolls. Assist in the event that complications arise.
- Payroll SME: Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for all payroll-related issues at S&C, tackling problems requiring a deep understanding of the business and its systems.
- Resolution Lead: Lead new initiatives and problem-solving efforts, such as implementing new pay groups or addressing complex pay transfer issues for global payroll transfers.
- ADP Liaison: Act as a key liaison for implementing ADP integrations, suggesting programming specifications for pay rules, and ensuring all stakeholder needs are supported.
- Vendor Partnership: Interface with third-party vendors such as Vanguard for filing purposes, ensuring seamless communication and compliance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, from leaders to vendors, to resolve issues and troubleshoot problems with the payroll system.
- Process Improvement: Contribute detailed recommendations to leadership for improvements to payroll processes, pay policies, and analysis of how proposed changes will affect the business.
- Reporting: Produce reports, both routine and ad-hoc, as needed. Utilize a deep understanding of the business and payroll function to understand information sources and produce accurate, value-adding reports.
- HR Responsibility: Partner with the Human Resources team to support various HR driven activities.
- Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required:
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience acting as the primary administrator on a payroll team for a mid to large-size company, with particular experience supporting both an hourly-paid and salaried workforce simultaneously.
- Possess deep knowledge of ADP Payroll products, demonstrated by experience working on complex administrator functions such as integration project and creating new pay groups.
- Excellent knowledge of payroll best practices and compliance requirements, with experience auditing payroll documentation to ensure proper completion.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete activities with accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently without supervision and hold oneself accountable for a diverse set of project and payroll deadlines.
- Strong coaching skills with the ability to review the work of other payroll team members and coach them on the standards expected in the function.
- Good accounting skills with the ability to produce financial reports and partner with Finance teams in support of overall company financial decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to compile information in Excel and produce payroll-related reports efficiently.
