Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Identify and deliver on the UX research needs of the RBC USWM Technology team to ensure data-driven prioritization and decision-making drives the user-centered design process for our technology platforms. As a UX researcher, you will partner with Technology Experience Consultants, Product and Capability Owners to identify, design and execute on end user research needs of various technology projects and initiatives. You will analyze and share research results to UX designers, developers and other business and technology stakeholders to help discover, define and influence the delivery of optimal technology solutions, based on the needs of our end-users.

What will you do?

  • Create journey maps, based on feedback from our users, business partners, Operations, Supervision and our technology teams
  • Document new personas as needed and refine/update those existing in the persona library
  • Heuristic evaluations of products, services and processes
  • Use proven research practices and methods, tools and techniques; stay current to offer insight on innovation in the UX research space
  • Design, plan and execute research to meet the needs of assigned projects; identify the most appropriate research methods to meet the needs of project-specific assignments
  • Plan, facilitate and capture the results of discovery sessions, process mapping, journey mapping, design-thinking workshops and requirements gathering
  • Capture, analyze and distill user feedback; partner with technology experience consultants and product and capability owners to formulate actionable ideas based on user feedback
  • Deliver relevant, reliable data to inform and influence teams in user-centered design decisions

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years' experience developing personas, journey maps and epic stories
  • 2+ years' experience implementing proven research methods, including but not limited to, user interviews, usability testing, card sorting, cognitive walkthroughs, concept testing and competitive analysis
  • End-to-end qualitative and quantitative research skills

Nice-to-have

  • An understanding of the firm's compliance policies and procedures
  • Strong technology background - able to quickly learn new tools and technologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; detail-oriented

The expected salary range for this particular position is $65,000-$115,000 depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.

You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
