Position: Supply Chain Coordinator

Position Summary: The Supply Chain Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement and delivery of medical and operational supplies across departments. This position is responsible for coordinating purchase orders, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing inventory workflows to support clinical and financial operations. The role involves analyzing purchasing data to develop strategic sourcing decisions, maintaining accurate inventory records, and collaborating with key stakeholders including department leaders, physicians, and executive teams. Key responsibilities include expediting orders to prevent supply chain disruptions, supporting financial reporting with supply usage data, and assisting in the development of physician preference cards. The coordinator also monitors high-dollar purchases, participates in physical inventory counts, and provides strategic insights to improve service line margins. This position works closely with the Supply Chain Director and other departments to ensure supply chain solutions are aligned with organizational goals.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Evaluates and maintains appropriate Storeroom/CS supply levels.

Adds new items to inventory and updates computer files as needed. Maintains inventory requisitions for all departments.

Coordinates and compiles the Storeroom and hospital-wide inventories.

Reviews HRG purchasing contracts for compliance and pricing.

Manages the vendor program.

Manages the sterilization monitoring documentation for the hospital.

Assists the buyers as needed.

Qualifications

Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:

  1. Associates degree required
  2. Bachelor's degree preferred
  3. At least 2 years of relevant experience or 1 year of hospital experience in supply chain management
  4. Strong communication skills and positive interpersonal relations
  5. Business organization and inventory management skills are essential
  6. Strong Microsoft Office skills required with emphasis in Excel

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

  1. Ability to read and write in English
  2. Ability to communicate with staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others
  3. Ability to cope with and remain calm under stress
  4. Ability to respond to pages
  5. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
  6. Ability to understand interpret financial data
  7. Bending and lifting (0-50 pounds), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling (up to 100 pounds)
