Summary of Job Duties:The Director of Operations for the Institute for Digital Health & Innovation (IDHI) provides strategic and operational leadership for the Brain Injury Program (BIP), which is funded through state and federal sources. This position oversees program growth and success in clinical, research, and educational initiatives focused on the care of post-acute brain injury patients.

Key responsibilities include directing program priorities, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, mentoring a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, and serving as principal investigator for applicable grants. The Director provides guidance in research design, data analysis, and quality reporting, leading efforts to improve rehabilitative care outcomes. The role includes oversight of statewide advisory committees, representation at the Arkansas Trauma Advisory Committee's Rehabilitation Subcommittee, and partnership with UAMS faculty, external stakeholders, funding agencies, and advocacy groups.

The Director is also responsible for leading research contributions and publications, coordinating communication with clinical and research collaborators, and supporting program evaluation and continuous improvement. This position is primarily remote with some on-campus presence and occasional travel. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of operations administration experience, including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Effective communicator with experience in training, project management, and team leadership

  • Ability to implement technical applications in healthcare settings

  • Must be able to travel occasionally for in-state overnight trips

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Health Education or a related field

  • At least one (1) year of program implementation experience

  • Expertise in rehabilitation for spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury populations

  • Basic Life Support certification

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the IDHI Brain Injury Program, ensuring alignment with clinical, research, and educational objectives

  • Oversee all program operations, including grant compliance, funding requirements, and program evaluation

  • Direct data collection, analysis, and reporting to identify opportunities for quality improvement in brain injury rehabilitation care

  • Serve as Principal Investigator (or assign as appropriate) for grants in which BIP is the primary grantee

  • Manage and support statewide advisory boards and committees, including the Arkansas Trauma Advisory Committee's Rehabilitation Subcommittee

  • Mentor and provide guidance to a multidisciplinary team of professionals in rehabilitation, care coordination, and brain injury specialties

  • Foster relationships with state, federal, and community stakeholders, advocacy groups, and healthcare providers

  • Lead and contribute to research publications, scholarly activity, and dissemination of findings related to brain injury rehabilitation

  • Collaborate with UAMS faculty, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physicians, and external partners on program priorities and clinical integration

  • Represent the program at meetings, conferences, and stakeholder events to promote awareness and engagement

  • Ensure program growth, sustainability, and statewide impact through effective management of resources and partnerships

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of IDHI and UAMS
