RN, Oncology Nurse Navigator | Head and Neck Cancer

Location:La Crosse Cancer Center
Schedule:72 hours per two-week pay period (0.9 FTE)
Shift:Weekdays; clinic hours typically 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with flexibility between 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Status:Salaried
Required On-Site Fridays

Who We Are

At Emplify Health by Gundersen, our Cancer Center team is committed to guiding patients through their cancer journey with compassion, clarity, and consistency. As a Nurse Navigator, you'll be a vital point of contact for patients diagnosed with head and neck cancers-helping them navigate the complexities of treatment, appointments, and support services.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a consistent liaison for patients from diagnosis through survivorship, specific to head and neck cancer.

  • Triage incoming referrals and coordinate multidisciplinary care plans.

  • Collaborate closely with ENT, medical and radiation oncology, nutrition, social work, and surgical teams.

  • Attend tumor boards and multidisciplinary clinics to help define and initiate care plans.

  • Identify and address barriers to care.

  • Provide education and emotional support tailored to the unique needs of head and neck cancer patients.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum)

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in Wisconsin

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of nursing experience

  • Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross)

  • Oncology certification within 3 years of hire

Preferred:

  • Ambulatory care experience

  • Experience in oncology in a clinic or hospital setting

  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills

  • Emotional maturity and professional boundaries

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage complex patient needs

You have experience navigating the healthcare system, a solid understanding of cancer care, and a passion for working closely with both providers and patients. You're adaptable, eager to learn, and committed to growing as cancer care evolves.
