Position Overview

The Digital Marketing Manager drives Batten's digital presence and ensures performance-focused execution across platforms. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, this role uses data-driven insights to optimize engagement and reach. The manager partners with the Associate Director of Content to align digital campaigns with broader storytelling strategies, while maintaining ownership of digital strategy and day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, serving as the school's digital marketing lead
• Manage and optimize Batten's website content, SEO, and analytics to increase visibility and enhance user experience
• Overseeday-to-day executionof social media, guided by the team's brand and storytelling strategy
• Lead paid and performance marketing campaigns to drive measurable growth in applications, engagement, and reputation
• Translate performance data into actionable insights and recommendations for the broader marketing and communications team
• Collaborate with UVA partners to ensure alignment of digital initiatives with institutional platforms and policies
• Other duties as assigned
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of three years of experience in digital marketing, including social media, SEO, paid media, or analytics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing and executing social media campaigns across multiple platforms
• Strong skills in Google Analytics, SEO tools, Sprout, marketing automation, Monday.com, and WordPress
• Ability to interpret data and use insights to improve digital strategy and execution
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven settings preferred

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

The anticipated hiring range is $60,000-$75,000, commensurate with education and experience.

This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days on grounds per week minimum, with additional on-site presence as needed, in accordance with UVA's remote work guidelines.
