Position Highlights |
The Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies is seeking an accomplished educator to join our Deaf Studies faculty for the 2025-2026 academic year. This will be a non-tenure track Limited Term Adjunct instructor to provide part time instruction during our Spring Session. NOTE: The teaching schedule will be dependent upon class assignment; assignment may be online, classroom- based, hybrid depending on need. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Instruct undergraduate students in rehabilitation studies and
services and graduate students in counseling during Spring 2026. Courses include but are not limited to SERP 584, SERP 587, and SERP 594. - Place students in the field experience sites as necessary.
- Grade projects and exams.
- Work with Counseling faculty.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong content area background based upon teaching experience in rehabilitation and counseling.
- Knowledge of engaging instructional strategies.
- Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with community partners for
field placements. - Evidence of reflective practice and experience working with a wide range of students at higher educational levels.
- Exhibit a willingness and ability to participate in professional
preparation to acquire the knowledge of and skills needed to be an effective instructor. - Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills and
the willingness and ability to work collaboratively. - Demonstrated experience in teaching at the
college level.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Master's degree in relevant
discipline. - Experience working in counseling
and/or rehabilitation. - Minimum of three years of experience
in college level teaching. - Experience
with accreditation and certification processes in counseling and rehabilitation.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Ph.D. (although a master's degree with extensive professional experience and strong content area background in counseling or rehabilitation is preferred).
- Experience with online learning platforms such as D2L, Zoom, and recording tools.
- Experience working with individuals of various educational, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Experience in course and curriculum development.
