Summary
The Learning Technology and Data Associate reports to the Assistant Director of the Center for Learning Excellence ( CLE). This person provides hands-on technical support for faculty, staff, and the CLE team. The core of this position is ensuring the operational health and security of our digital learning environment by:

  • Acting as the Tier 2 support conduit between our team and technology vendors.
  • Managing the annual information security review process for CLE LMS tools.
  • Providing data analytics on the usage of HCC's learning technologies.
  • Support collaborative accessibility review and improvement efforts.

Essential Role Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Generate and present reports on technology usage and user engagement to support the team's auditing and decision-making processes.
  • Technology Integration: Work with faculty and instructional designers to set up and configure new LTI applications within Canvas.
  • Security & Compliance Coordination: Coordinate the annual security review process for all new and renewing learning technologies in partnership with the Information Security team.

  • LMS Support & Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for the CLE team using Canvas and other integrated learning tools. Manage escalations by documenting issues and coordinating with vendor support teams through to resolution.


Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-2 years of experience supporting an LMS like Canvas.
  • Experience in a customer service or technical support role.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical topics clearly to people with varying levels of technical expertise.

Minimum Education Required Associate's degree
Experience Required 1
Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in a community college.
  • Experience with the LTI standard and integrating third-party tools.
