JOB SUMMARY:This position supports the Enterprise Services Center, Engineering and Solution Delivery (ESD) Branch. ESD provides a wide variety of information technology and business services to the FAA, DOT, and other government agencies including Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) configuration, support, application administration, information technology consulting, project management, life cycle software development, and ongoing maintenance and operations support. Location:FAA Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City

PRIMARY DUTIES:




  • Gathers and documents needs for IT training and proposes feasible solutions



  • Designs, develops, and presents IT training in both classroom and computer-based settings



  • Coordinates classes, tracks and reports attendance, and assesses employee progress and IT training program effectiveness



  • Improves and updates materials based on feedback and changes to the IT training program



  • Performs all occupational base tasks for a Technical Writer in support of the FAA Logistics Center (FAALC) Information Systems Group/Logistics Center Support System Office



  • Plans, develops, organizes, writes, and edits operational procedures and manuals



  • Researches, develops, and documents technical design specifications and test scripts



  • Produces electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals



  • Maintains a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation



  • Manages updates and revisions to technical literature



  • Develops, writes, and edits material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerning logistics support services and software systems



  • Establishes and maintains files and documentation in both hard copy and electronic formats, including work revisions, drawings, diagrams, and charts



  • Works on highly visible tasks requiring interaction with upper management, including FAA Headquarters executives



  • Prepares correspondence, documents, reports, summaries, charts, schedules, and replies



  • Reads documents, publications, regulations, and directives, applying those that are applicable to assigned functions and tasks



  • Converts information from paper and electronic mediums to other formats



  • Performs scanning, image manipulation, and image editing, including cropping, coloring, and layering



  • Uses a wide range of computer software for word processing, document preparation, report writing, and spreadsheet creation



  • Writes and formats information on a variety of subjects



  • Maintains electronic files and file systems



  • Prints, assembles, and distributes complex documents, checklists, and manuals



  • Maintains an inventory of available manuals, checklists, and documents



  • Performs document distribution to various offices and personnel



  • Communicates with organizations, clients, and personnel via telephone using proper etiquette to project a professional image



  • Answers office phone lines, handles and forwards calls, and takes accurate messages



  • Attends meetings, prepares meeting minutes, schedules meetings, and manages the conference room calendar





RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:



  • Experience analyzing needs and developing IT specific training in an adult education environment.
  • Preferably 2 years' experience in writing/editing or complex administrative type task.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word and Powerpoint).
  • Advanced computer skills in IFS, JIRA, SMARTTool, WMS, 2C8, PRISM, Javascript, CSS, HTML, eLMS, etc.
  • Knowledge Sharing Network (KSN) administration and document management.
  • Familiar with SAFE Agile and Scrums.



REQUIREMENTS:6 years of experience analyzing needs, developing and presenting trainings. 3 years of experience must be IT specific adult training.

EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or other related discipline.
