Responsibilities:
- Complete preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers as required by state, federal and internal procedures
- Diagnose and repair the following tractor components: air system, electrical system, steering, brakes, air conditioning
- Diagnose and repair the following trailer components: air system, electrical system, brakes, undercarriage, suspension, and trailer structure
- Diagnose and repair reefer unit including refrigeration
- Change or repair tires or coordinate with vendor
- Keep work area neat and clean
- Abide by all company policies and governmental regulations
- Responsible for DOT/OSHA/EPA record keeping as pertaining to the shop and equipment as necessary
- Coordinate road breakdowns with company equipment while on duty
- Responsible for snow removal of yard and scraping of trailers during weather events
Preferred Requirements:
- Team members are responsible for understanding company policy and procedures as promulgated in the policy and procedure manual and the team member handbook
- High school diploma or GED; technical school preferred
- At least 3 years of experience as a qualified diesel or heavy equipment mechanic
- Class A CDL
- EPA 608 Refrigeration Certification
- PA State Inspection License
