Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced

As an Construction Materials Engineering Technician in Greensboro, North Carolina, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects by performing field testing of construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry. This is a great opportunity to enhance your technical skills, and work in an outdoor environment where your contributions directly impact project success.   • Field Testing: Conduct field testing on construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and other relevant materials.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Provide detailed reports on data and testing results.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Verify that field and laboratory equipment are precise and comply with industry standards.
  • Special Inspection Monitoring: Adhere to International Building Code (IBC) guidelines for testing and inspecting construction materials for safety and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Communicate with supervisors, contractors, and clients to report on project status and address any issues.



What We're Looking For:



  • You have a High School diploma/GED
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
  • A minimum of two (2) active certifications in any of the following:

    • American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician
    • International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
    • DOT Certifications in Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and Concrete (QMS Roadway is a plus)


  • A strong ability to communicate effectively (speaking, reading, and writing) in English
  • A solid understanding of math concepts related to weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure



What to Expect:



  • With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions
  • Walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)
  • Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment
  • Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites
