Our INVISTA Houston Propylene Plant, TX site, is seeking a Turnaround Planner to join the team.

Our Team

The Turnaround Planner has responsibilities for supporting strategic planning, logistics development, field planning scope, field execution coordination, and post-event closeout. Overall, this role supports the Turnaround Team in all event phases, providing leadership and support, creating a winning team culture that results in optimal readiness and successful execution of events.

What You Will Do

  • Primary responsibility will be to support Houston, but may be leveraged to support other sites, including traveling as needed in Texas. (Longview, Victoria, Orange)
  • Plan work in assigned areas using best-in-class methods (i.e. field walk downs, detailed step outs, BOM's, flange tracking, estimating, pictures, sketches, drawings, long text descriptions, templates) to enable the craft to fully understand the scope of work, to execute safely and efficiently.
  • During the execution phase of events, transitions to the Field Execution Role.
  • Support / participate in scope development and scope change process.
  • Communicate early and often on issues, opportunities, and solutions appropriately
  • Participate/support logistics plan development for each event.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Five (5) years or more of experience in a mechanical planning role or Turnaround Leadership
  • Experience reading P&IDs, Mechanical & Isometrics drawings, and understanding pipe codes
  • Experience in generating a bill of materials and obtaining quotes
  • Turnaround planning and execution experience
  • This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Ten (10) years or more of experience in a planning or leadership role associated with Turnarounds
  • Experience in leading/facilitating group discussions or meetings
  • Experience with SAP, IPS, Primavera, or other TA software programs
  • Experience developing cost estimates, presentations, pivot tables, and metrics

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to work a 5/10 work schedule. The work schedule is subject to change with notification, depending on business needs. Additionally, must be available to work scheduled (Planned) or unscheduled (unplanned/short-notice hours on nights and/or weekends, holidays as needed), to meet business needs
  • Required to wear any or all of the following PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, gloves, safety boots, respirators, ACR Flash suits, and encapsulated suits. PPE use is in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for a given task.

This role is subject to a pre-hire physical abilities test.
