This autonomous future means flawless communications with Autopilot HW/SW to deliver critical driving visualizations, simultaneously supporting an ever-richer suite of entertainment and productivity features for passengers-like theater on wheels, providing immersive media experiences.

Tesla's Software Platforms team provides the foundational operating system that powers the in-vehicle experience. We are responsible for the core components (kernel, bootloader, drivers, and other userspace services) that enable Tesla's infotainment software ecosystem. As Tesla advances towards an autonomous future, smooth, reliable and intuitive on-screen experiences will become critically important. As part of this team, you will be pivotal in improving the graphics aspect of existing and next generation infotainment products.


What You'll Do
  • Extract every bit of performance out of the hardware using first principles
  • Leverage latest upstream technologies to unlock new visual experiences
  • Develop and integrate tooling to identify optimization opportunities across the stack
  • Identify and execute stability improvements as we scale the fleet
  • Bringup next generation hardware
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to best practices for high-quality embedded software development

What You'll Bring
  • Excellent C/C++ coding skills
  • Strong Linux Kernel fundamentals
  • Experience with Linux graphics technologies (Wayland, Mesa3D, DRM)
  • Significant Embedded Linux experience in production
  • Contributions to the Linux Kernel or other open source projects, preferred
  • Experience with Graphics APIs (Vulkan, OpenGL), preferred
  • Experience with system-level Android, preferred
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability

    Expected Compensation
    $164,480 - $433,680/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
