The Bed Control Coordinator I This role is to Assigns all patient beds, assuring that admissions, discharges and transfers are accomplished in accordance with established criteria

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Registration:



  • Must be able to perform all ED and Front Desk
  • Registrar functions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Correctly select patients from history or create new record when completing the check in process of patients who present to the Emergency Room (Triage and Ambulance
    stations) or Admitting desk.
  • Performs timely and accurate patient registration of Emergency & Admitting patients.
  • Updates demographic, insurance and guarantor data, and have all registration documents signed and witnessed appropriately.
  • Obtains and scans all necessary identification and insurance cards.
  • Monitors patient volume of Emergency Room Track Board or Admitting Track Board.
  • Provides fill-in coverage in any area of the Department as needed.


Bed Control:



  • Accepts and coordinates admission requests for 248 hospital beds on a 24/7 basis.
  • Maintains an accurate bed census, recording admissions, discharges and transfers as they occur.
  • Assigns beds according to patient's preference, medical diagnosis and/or availability.
  • Upon the receipt of reservations, secures all information required for the proper plan of care prior to admission


Direct Admits:



  • Secures accurate patient information on impending admissions.
  • Obtains all necessary patient signatures during admission process to meet compliance measures

Salary Range: Minimum 22.41/hour - Maximum 36.98/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
