Exciting, high demand job that provides opportunities to provide excellent EMS services to the citizens of Milwaukee County. Fiserv Forum is our largest venue and provides opportunities to provide medical services during concerts, Bucks games, and other events. We also provide medical services at the Milwaukee County Zoo and Milwaukee Admirals Hockey games. We also function in the capacity of Community Oriented Regional EMS; bringing medical resources, education, and care to underserved commnuities within Milwukee County.



Job Summary: Operate within the Wisconsin State EMS Scope of Practice as approved within the Treatment Guidelines of Milwaukee County OEM-EMS. Providers are expected to respond promptly to requests for service, assess and provide appropriate treatment, and complete documentation of the patient encounter. Providers are expected to properly train and prepare to respond to unique situations, sometimes challenging, within different venues. Available hours vary and events are primarily in the evenings, but day hours are routinely available.



Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Immediately respond to requests for service when notified of an incident requiring medical assessment and treatment. Treat patients as necessary to the full extent of the patient care guidelines in both the emergency and non-emergency setting.
  • Thoroughly document the entire patient encounter consistent with expectations of Milwaukee County OEM-EMS. Accurate documentation is essential to record events, provide information for CQIP, and to provide informaiton on risk assessments to the venues we serve.
  • Complete annual LMS training as required by the county and the Office of EMS. Complete in-house training or specialized training sessions as mandated by the EMS Division.
  • Work with EMS Captain to assess risks of events and prepare equipment accordingly. Follow direction of EMS Supervisor for staffing positions to provide optimal coverage for the event. Complete inventory lists and ensure equipment is functioning/stocked appropriately.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Narcotic Guidelines and comply 100% with accountability checks.
  • Support OEM-EMS to further the vision/mission of the division. Including but not limited to, Harm Reduction, Education, MIH activities and leadership projects.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current Wisconsin driver's license which must be maintained throughout employment
  • State of Wisconsin Paramedic License
  • Possession of ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications are required.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift and carry at least 100 pounds
  • Intermediate knowledge of ImageTrend
  • Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Advanced Knowledge of Zoll X-Series
  • Completion of ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 within 6 months of hire
  • Applicants will need to pass a background check and drug screen


Preferred but not required:



  • One (1) year of experience working with an EMS agency
  • National Registry Paramedic
  • Full Practice Paramedic



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the principles, theories and techniques of emergency medical services; skilled in providing emergency care; oral and written communication skills; skill in performing duties in stressful situations; ability to maintain professional demeanor in emergency situations; ability to carry essential ambulance equipment; ability to enter and exit the ambulance, public or private residence and any scene of a medical emergency; ability to work effectively and harmoniously with students, staff, patients and others.
