Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, Foundation and Corporate Philanthropy, the Associate Director, Institutional Giving will take a leadership role in the creation, planning and execution of institutional fundraising strategies for annual giving, priority initiatives and 92NY programs from foundation and corporate sources. The Associate Director will bring a high level of creativity, energy and leadership to this role and be an active thought partner in developing strategic solutions to grow and diversify institutional revenue. Responsibilities include relationship management, grant identification, writing and prospect research to identify and cultivate new sources of funding.



Job Responsibilities Include

    Manage and grow a portfolio of foundation and corporate prospects and donors.
  • Collaborate with the VP and members of 92NY's Executive Leadership Team to plan and execute strategic fundraising efforts for 92NY's programs in arts, culture, education, civic engagement, Jewish life, and health and wellness.
  • Work closely with program staff to become thoroughly familiar with a wide array of programs and communicate them in a compelling manner to funders-both verbally and in writing.
  • Strategic thought partner in efforts to broaden a base of foundation funding by identifying and cultivating new prospects and maximizing levels of support from current donors.
  • Prospect Research: identify funding prospects for 92NY's programs, special initiatives, and general operating support.
  • Work with program colleagues to ensure fulfillment of grant portfolio deliverables including outputs, outcomes, and success indicators.
  • Draft letters of inquiry, proposals, reports, acknowledgement letters and other development communications.
  • Work collaboratively with Financial Management Office and program colleagues on grant budgets and supporting materials for proposals, applications and reports.
  • Prepare planning and strategy briefings for donor visits with foundation and corporate prospects and donors.
  • Maintain accurate record of stewardship and contact information in Tessitura.
  • Work closely with Development team to implement appropriate recognition opportunities, including naming opportunities.
  • Ensure proper stewardship and acknowledgment of corporate and foundation funders.
  • Represent 92NY and its programs in meetings, site visits, and phone conversations with foundation and corporate prospects and donors.
  • Identify meaningful engagement opportunities.
  • May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to job responsibilities.


Experience, Education, & Skills Desired

  • Bachelor's degree, with Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years previous experience in foundation, corporate and government fundraising, grant writing, and/or related areas.
  • Extensive knowledge of foundation and corporate foundation/philanthropy funding communities.
  • Proven track record in relationship-building, donor cultivation and securing support from corporate and foundation sources.
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities simultaneously and meet grant and reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data with the facility to understand complex budgeting models.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office and Excel; knowledge of Tessitura and Salesforce preferred.


Work Environment & Requirements

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility in schedule needed to meet deadlines and attend various programs and events.

Compensation Range

$75,000 - $100,000

The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
