Field Support Engineer

Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Location: Houston, TX (Remote/Home-Based)

Position Salary: $60,000 - $85,000 (Depending on Experience) + Bonus

Responsibilities:



  • A leading provider of SMT automation machines and software is seeking a skilled and experienced Field Support Engineer.
  • Crucial for troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and programming industrial machines and software at customer sites.
  • The company provides comprehensive training to ensure you are well-equipped for success.
  • Provide on-site and remote engineering support to ensure optimal performance at customer manufacturing sites.
  • Perform installations, repairs, retrofits, reconfigurations, and programming of industrial machines and software.
  • Assist clients with network configuration and administration, including the setup of Windows & Database servers.
  • Accurately document service logs to maintain comprehensive reporting.
  • Conduct customer training on the company's software products as required.
  • Respond to after-hours, on-call technical support requests for customer emergencies.
  • Ensure services are provided following company policies, protocols, and service manuals.
  • Escalate issues or suggest improvements to maintain and enhance company quality standards.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree a minimum; Engineering or Science background is preferred; Higher education is a plus
  • 2+ years of field support experience, with strong expertise in electrical and mechanical diagnostics/repairs.
  • Proficiency in supporting Windows OS, including operating, installing, and configuring.
  • Willingness to travel as needed up to 75% expected.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL and Linux is a plus.
  • Prior experience in semiconductors and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) is highly desirable.
