Part-Time Endoscopy Registered Nurse (Pre-Op, Procedure, Recovery)Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital - Endoscopy UnitDepartment: Endoscopy ServicesSchedule: Part-Time, Days (Monday-Friday, 0630-1700)Call Requirements: 3-4 call shifts/month (1700-0700 weekdays; 24-hour call on weekends; at least one weekend call shift every month)Reports To: Endoscopy SupervisorJob Description:Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Endoscopy Unit. This position includes responsibility for providing comprehensive care across the full procedural spectrum-pre-operative assessment, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure recovery-for a variety of outpatient and inpatient procedures in pulmonary, gastroenterology, and ENT specialties.Key Responsibilities:Perform patient assessments and preparations for scheduled endoscopic proceduresAssist during procedures, ensuring patient safety and monitoring sedationManage post-procedure recovery and patient readiness for discharge or further careCollaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for effective case managementParticipate in a part-time call rotation (3-4 shifts/month), including one weekend every 2 monthsQualifications:Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or compact license)Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; procedural or critical care preferredBLS and ACLS certification requiredStrong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skillsAbility to function well in a dynamic, team-based environmentAbout Us:Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a premier academic medical center and tertiary care facility in the region.
