DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this vital position, you will be one of the first individuals that our community members will interact with when they seek our agency's services. Our team will rely on you to provide a positive impression on behalf of Wayne County Human Services, Transportation Department. Your responsibilities will involve helping new consumers sign up for services, helping existing consumers effectively use services, and completing tasks both independently and as assigned by the team (Director, Operations Manager). You will utilize a computer, telephone, and tablet to dispatch drivers and vehicles, answer calls, schedule trips, appropriately rout calls, and maintain electronic and written records. Developing and applying a good operational understanding of the Wayne County Transportation System is key for success in this role. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 37.5 hours per week, and the schedule will vary between 4:00 AM and 9:00 PM, Monday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch. Employee may have irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • May have overnight travel or out of County travel for meetings or training.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum; or
  • Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
