Role Overview: The Medical Assistant (MA) serves as a key member of the patient care team in the outpatient oncology setting. This position works closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience. The role involves a blend of clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the clinical practice.This includes directing and assisting patients; taking vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, weight, and height; pre-cleaning instruments for high-level disinfection/sterilization; monitoring and maintaining medical equipment and assisting clinical staff and responding to medical emergencies per protocol. Anticipates and manages patient flow and room utilization, exam room stocking, and preparing and assisting with patient exams and procedures. Key Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants - Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through National Healthcare Association - National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing
