The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for a Door Technician to support Facilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) our government customer located in NORCO, CA.

The candidate is responsible for providing support for the daily maintenance operations of all doors, locks and system requirements supporting all systems and government property.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily operational checks of all doors and locks and supporting systems and equipment for all buildings and sites as per the SOW.

  • Respond to all door and lockset-related equipment troubles and alarms.

  • Completes all preventative and corrective maintenance related work orders in a timely manner.

  • Receives and evaluates work orders and requests.

  • Install, maintain, and repair a variety of doors, locksets, equipment and systems.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure efficient operation.

  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in door/lockset systems, including mechanical, electrical components.

  • Perform tasks like cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting door components to prevent breakdowns.

  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols related to all types of door operations.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for all doors and locksets.

  • Proficient at operating equipment used in cutting keys.

  • Establish and maintain an inventory of critical spare keys, blanks, parts and specialty tools.

  • Establish and maintain a database for all locksets located on all doors buildings identified within the SOW. The database shall include but not limited to, location, manufacturer, model, size, type, age and condition etc.

  • Respond to emergency situations involving door and lockset malfunctions or failures.

  • Establish and maintain an inventory of critical spares, parts and specialty tools.

  • Assists the Facilities Supervisor in managing the work of outside contractors and vendors to ensure all work meets applicable codes.

  • Assists the Facilities Supervisor and other technical personnel in the identification of materials, parts assemblies, and requirements for a variety of requisitions.

  • Responds to emergency site maintenance as required.

  • Works with minimal supervision with a team of HVAC, electricians, and maintenance mechanics.

  • Troubleshoots, installs, tests, repairs, modifies, maintains, and calibrates all types of doors and lockset equipment.

  • Highly skilled in the use of hand/power tools and test equipment commonly used within the door and lockset industry including but not limited to, measuring tapes, grinders, power tools, cutters, volt, amp, ohm meters, torches, and various hand tools.

  • Assists other trades as required to accomplish maintenance activities.

  • Assist in completion of facilities related projects and equipment and system repairs as required.

  • Assist in installation of new equipment and systems as required.

  • Assist other technicians inspecting and diagnosing problems to determine necessary corrective repairs.

  • Keeps the Program Manager and Facilities Supervisor and other technicians apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.

  • Identify unsafe working conditions and work practices and report to Safety Specialist immediately in writing.

  • Assist in general cleaning of mechanical spaces and equipment required and as requested by management.

  • Ensure proper housekeeping practices are strictly observed.

  • Complete required monthly safety and equipment training.

  • Assist in performing monthly safety inspections as required.

  • Inspect and maintain all required PPE daily.

  • Respond to and assist in emergency cleanups as necessary.

  • Complete all online training as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • OSHA 10 certification.

  • Preferred: X-10 certification.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) years' experience in servicing and maintaining all types of doors and locksets.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Seven (7) years' experience in servicing and maintaining all types of doors and locksets.

  • Proficient at operating equipment used to cut keys.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available and able to respond to emergency call-ins when required.

  • Must pass an annual "Fit for Duty" physical and meet all the necessary medical requirements to wear all types of respirators and perform the physical requirements of the job.

  • Must pass the required respirator fit test and maintain the requirement.

  • Must be physically able to climb all types of ladders, a-frame, vertical, extension etc.

  • Must be physically able to climb up on and maneuver on raised walkways and platforms with limited access.

  • Assigned other collateral duties as required.

ENVIROMENTAL FACTORS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Environmental Factors: Works in indoor and outdoor environments that contain excessive heat, cold and humidity, excessive dampness, electrical energy, dust, fumes, solvents grease, oils, moving machinery with moving parts, moving object or vehicles and slippery or uneven surfaces.

  • Physical Effort: Works from ground level, ladders, and platforms on equipment and systems where parts are hard-to-reach. Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally over fifty pounds. Standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and stretching for prolonged periods will be necessary.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
