The RAND Corporation is a non-profit research organization providing objective analysis and effective solutions that address the challenges facing the public and private sectors around the world.

TheRAND Survey Research Groupis currently hiringbilingual Field Interviewers.

The Hollywood 2.0 projectwill evaluate the effectiveness of a County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health initiative to increase access to services in Hollywood.Interviewers must be bilingual inEnglish and Farsi or Armenian.Interviewer teams will approach clients at service providers including shelters, drop-in centers and clinics in Hollywood, Lincoln Heights, and Chatsworth. Interviewers will be assigned participants by a team lead and will conduct 45-60 minute interviews on tablet computers and paper booklets in English and Farsi or Armenian. Work assignments are scheduled and supervised. Interviewers will attend bi-weekly meetings by telephone.

Positions are part time, temporary, adjunct without benefits, 12-15 hours per week. Expected duration of the projects is August 2025 to December 2026.Pay rate is$23.00-$24.00per hour.

Requirements

  • Bilingual -- Proficient in English and Farsi or Armenian
  • Willing to work in shelters, drop-in centers and clinics in Hollywood, Lincoln Heights, and Chatsworth
  • Comfortable approaching unhoused individuals and people with severe mental illness
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, approximately 12-15 hours per week
  • Comfortable working with tablet computers and smart phones
  • Valid driver's license, dependable car, proof of auto insurance
  • Available to attend all scheduled training dates
  • Exceptional time-management, organizational and recordkeeping skills
  • Motivated, self-starter, comfortable working independently and on a team
  • Prior interviewing, relevant coursework or professional experience strongly preferred

Training

  • Field interviewers receive an extensive paid training which will be held in-person at our Santa Monica headquarters.Attendance at training is mandatory.
  • Training will be held over four days TBD

Continued employment eligibility is contingent upon passing a background check (including DMV) and conflict of interest review and successful completion of training.
