Overview |
The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.
In addition to instruction in the classroom, field, and laboratory, our students have opportunities for experiential learning on and off campus, including a growing emphasis on international experiences through short- and long-term study abroad. Students also have access to a robust program of applied research and outreach hosted by the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station laboratories, farms, business incubators, and marine stations throughout the state. |

SPVR for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. The Educational Opportunity Fund (
EOF) Program is a state-supported student success program that provides New Jersey residents with holistic support and student success including comprehensive academic, personal, and financial support services and financial assistance. Under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Dean/Director for
EOF at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, the
MANAGER
EOF
SPVR will manage and supervise office personnel to include support and counseling staff.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Acts as the liaison between SEBS EOF and the various university academic and student service offices.
- Develops goals & professional development activities for staff.
- Supervises and evaluates the summer programs for renewal and first-year students.
- Develops and implemens student academic success and retention initiatives.
- Manages the administration and compliance of EOF Article IV grant funding.
- Posses advanced expertise in state and federal financial aid regulations, NJFAMS proficiency, grant roster management, and data auditing to ensure accurate, timely disbursements.
- Assists the EOF Director with the preparation of state reports.
- Acts as a secondary liaison to the Rutgers Financial Aid Office.
- Resolves complex student financial aid issues.
- Supports student persistence through compliance with Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and EOF program requirements.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, higher education, or a related field.
- Three years of experience in state and federal financial aid administration, including EOF grant management, reconciliation, audit preparation, counseling, teaching, or student development within a college setting-particularly working with at-risk or underrepresented student populations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Experience supporting students pursuing STEM majors.
- Demonstrated expertise in the New Jersey Financial Aid Management System (NJFAMS), including EOF Article IV grant roster preparation, compliance monitoring, and award reconciliation.
- In-depth understanding of state and federal financial aid regulations, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards, EOF program guidelines, and Article IV grant requirements.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with experience managing professional staff and/or student employees.
- Strong understanding of current STEM retention initiatives, particularly for underrepresented and at-risk student populations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate on team-oriented projects and initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant technology platforms.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Familiarity with academic trends related to retention of first-year, probationary, and transfer students.
- Experience serving as a primary or secondary liaison with institutional financial aid offices to resolve complex student account, disbursement, and registration hold issues.
