Overview

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is a licensed, experienced professional who is the clinical expert in the assessment and treatment of patients, families and social work consultation to the interdisciplinary teams in a variety of inpatient and ambulatory settings in the Yale New Haven Health System. As the clinical expert, the scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, brief treatment, crisis intervention, mental health consultation, teaching/mentoring, and/or other project/task force participation as assigned by supervisor. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker will work collaboratively with members of the health care teams throughout the organization. The LCSW will complete outreach efforts to recruit for Parenting Support program. The Clinical Social Worker will provide screenings for social determinants of health for each household seeking enrollment. Additionally, the Clinical Social Worker will partner with local agencies to provide resources to the parents enrolled in the Parenting Support Program. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran Responsibilities
Qualifications EDUCATION Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work. EXPERIENCE For Connecticut, consistent with LCSW licensure requirements, 3,000 hours of post-master's social work experience and 100 hours of post-master's clinical supervision. LICENSURE Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from the State of Connecticut, or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) from the State of Rhode Island, or those holding licenses from other states, will need an 'endorsement' and meet the State of Connecticut or State of Rhode Island license requirements. SPECIAL SKILLS The LCSW will possess the following special skills: empathy, active listening, critical thinking, strong organizational and computer skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with and advocate for patients and families.
