The Database Administrator is responsible for assisting the Lead Database Administrator with the design, development, maintenance, support, integration, troubleshooting, and all administrative functions of MS SQL databases and servers. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain the performance of database servers
- Develop processes for optimizing databases
- Set and maintain database standards
- Manage database access
- Performance tuning of database systems
- Install, upgrade, and manage database applications
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors
- Create automation for repeating database tasks
- Be available for on-call support as needed
- Design stable, reliable and effective databases
- Optimize and maintain legacy systems
- Modify databases according to requests and perform tests
- Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
- Gather user requirements and identify new features
- Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements
- Extract data from primary and secondary sources
- Preparing reports for the management, business, and compliance team
- Monitor, maintain and develop routine tasks
- Backup key developers during their off hours
Required Qualifications:
- At least five (5+) years of experience as a database administrator and/or developer
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in MS SQL Server production support, Stored Procedures, and RDBMS
- Minimum of (2) years of technical experience with SQL Server
- Experience with index tuning and query optimization
- Ability to work off hours for operational support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or similar discipline
- Preferred at least six (6+) years of experience as a database administrator and/or developer Experience with using source control systems such as Azure DevOps
- Experience with middleware ETL tools such as Informatica Cloud
- Experience in Data Replication tools such as Qlik Replicate
- Experience with cloud database administration
- Previous Oil and Gas industry experience
- Ability to multi-task and to work in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot as problems occur
