Architectural Metals (Metals) is a segment within Apogee that is a provider of aluminum windows, curtainwall (soon to be retired), storefront and entrance systems. We offer an integrated set of capabilities including design, engineering, extrusion, finishing, fabrication, and assembly.

Job Overview

The Facilities Technician II maintains, services, and conducts minor repairs on buildings and equipment. Performs a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of painting and plastering. This position will work in multiple facilities in Wausau and Stratford area as part of their responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance of facility equipment and systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, and structural components).

  • Inspect and maintain building infrastructure, including lighting, ceilings, flooring, and walls.

  • Facility construction and repair such as framing, drywall, painting, and plumbing.

  • Assembly and repair of manual material handling equipment such as dollies and carts.

  • Perform grounds maintenance such as cutting, trimming, removal and planting. Safely operate related maintenance equipment.

  • Lot and sidewalk maintenance in all seasons. Responsible for snow and dirt removal. Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition.

  • Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment.

  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on facilities maintenance equipment.

  • Track usage and reorder supplies to ensure availability when needed.

  • Common area and event waste removal, floor cleaning, event furniture setup and clean up.

  • Assist production maintenance technicians with projects and other maintenance tasks with close supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently to complete assign tasks

  • Valid driver's license (as required by site).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training or certification in building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.

  • Forklift or aerial lift certification.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Work Environment

  • Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • May require after-hours response or weekend shifts depending on facility needs.
