Description Position Purpose: Builds and maintains data communication networks and optimizing processes, procedures, and standards for the operation of effective data networks, specific to LAN/WAN, mobility, and third-party network management. Monitors network performance, coordinates planned maintenance, adjusts hardware components, and responds to network connectivity issues. What is the purpose of this team?: To provide network solutions for remote access, traffic management, wireless connectivity and network admission control services. Describe the surrounding team (team culture, work environment, etc.) & key projects: There are multiple network teams working together, others include a datacenter network team, an automation/certificate/DDI team, Network operations, as well as network Site Reliability Engineering. Walk me through the day-to-day responsibilities and a description of the project: The individual is to work with application teams on identifying proper traffic management solutions to fit their needs, to keep a close eye on infrastructure performance and make recommendations and/or designs for improving the platform. Conduct health checks and take prompt action to tend to security related events (vulnerabilities). Also as part of the team the individual will assist with other network technologies (routing, switching, remote-access, site-to-site VPN, wireless, etc). What are the performance expectations/metrics?: The individual will produce comparable work to other Sr. Network engineers, working with internal/external consumers of network services and identify requirements, then build solutions to match. What makes this role unique?: This role is unique in the sense that it provides a significant exposure to a critical component of enterprise networks which is traffic management, not just load balancing but handling certificate management, Web Application Firewall capabilities as well. Skills* VPN, ISE, Cisco, Firewall, Ccna, Cisco routers, Data Center, Lan Wan, Netcaler ADC Additional Skills & Qualifications Education/Experience: - A Bachelor's degree - CCNP or higher certification is preferred Technical Skills: One or more of the following skills are desired. Experience with load balancing technologies, Netscaler preferred. Experience with Cisco Firewalls and VPN services Experience with Cisco Wireless technology Experience with Other: enterprise wide network projects, including fault tolerant LAN/WAN/SANs and disaster recovery Experience with Other: MPLS, ATM, Frame Relay, and SONET network deployments Experience with Other: implementation and design of QoS and traffic priorities Soft Skills: Intermediate - Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty Intermediate - Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Intermediate - Ability to work independently Intermediate - Demonstrated analytical skills Intermediate - Demonstrated project management skills Intermediate - Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure Intermediate - Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
