DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Supervisor 2, you will help manage the statewide registry for vital events by supervising the Communications Center customer service team that supports consumer vital records. You will assign work and prioritize tasks, provide instruction and guidance to staff, and monitor work for compliance with policies and procedures. You will also regularly provide consumers with advice and counsel on a myriad of issues related to vital event records, certificates, and permits. This role requires excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when interacting with consumers, addressing complaints, and deescalating tense situations. In addition, you will interview and hire new employees, conduct performance evaluations, and conduct quality control checks to assess the completeness, accuracy, and efficiency of work.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, working two days per week in the onsite. You may also be required to work onsite as dictated by operational and training needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Castle. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Supervisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
