Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a leading global law firm with offices in major commercial, legal, and governmental hubs worldwide, is seeking a Digital Product Manager. Reporting to the Director of Digital Operations and Design, the Digital Product Manager will interface with project sponsors to ensure exceptional client service for our project stakeholders while furthering the business objectives of the firm. The Digital Product Manager oversees a portfolio of digital products that support various practice groups, ensuring they deliver meaningful user experiences, enable efficient legal workflows, and drive continuous improvement. Guided by a people-centric management philosophy, this role shapes the product vision, mentors a team of product professionals, and collaborates cross-functionally to fulfill the firm's strategic objectives. This position may reside in either our Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Washington DC office and offers a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Responsibilities include: Team Leadership & Development: Directly supervises a team of product analysts.
Recruit, coach, and develop product analysts and other product team individual contributors, helping them grow professionally while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. Encourage open communication and goal alignment, empowering team members to take ownership of their work and innovate. Ensure team members have clear goals and have opportunities for professional development. Uphold the firm's policies and procedures in all aspects of performance.
Product Strategy & Planning
Collaborate with senior leadership, practice group stakeholders, and technical teams to shape and maintain a strategic roadmap for the firm's digital product portfolio. Integrate user research, competitive insights, and data analytics to identify product opportunities and prioritize initiatives that deliver maximum value.
Product Delivery & Execution
Oversee multiple projects from concept to release, ensuring cross-functional alignment in user research, backlog prioritization, and sprint planning. Serve as an escalation point for major product decisions, technical constraints, or timeline adjustments, balancing immediate demands with long-term product vision.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
Facilitate regular feedback sessions with attorneys, paralegals, and other internal clients, ensuring product initiatives address real-world needs. Communicate product updates, milestones, and KPIs effectively to senior leadership and other stakeholders, building a transparent and user-focused product culture.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Drive process improvements in product planning, requirement gathering, and release cycles to enhance efficiency and quality. Champion metrics-driven decision-making; track product performance against KPIs and identify areas for optimization.
User-Centric Rollout & Adoption
Oversee the launch of new features and enhancements, ensuring comprehensive transition plans, help documentation, and user-success materials are in place. Advocate for continuous user testing, feedback loops, and iterative improvements to sustain high levels of adoption and satisfaction.
Marketing & Positioning
Partner with internal communications or marketing functions to develop user-focused messaging and campaigns that articulate product value. Ensure product branding aligns with the firm's standards and resonates with practice groups' needs and client expectations.
Resource & Budget Management
Manage budget allocations for product initiatives, coordinating with finance and senior leadership to justify spending and track ROI. Negotiate and manage vendor relationships, if necessary, to support product delivery and user engagement.
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in business, finance, technology, design, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus. 3+ years of experience in digital product management or a related function, preferably with exposure to user research, product strategy, and agile methodologies. Demonstrated leadership experience, whether formal or informal. Familiarity with web-based project management or product management tools (e.g., Asana, JIRA) required. Strategic Mindset: Able to synthesize complex data and user feedback into clear product visions that align with firm objectives. People-First Leadership: Emphasize coaching, growth, and collaboration in developing team members. Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal skills; adept at bridging technical and nontechnical stakeholders to achieve consensus. Analytical Thinking: Proficient with product analytics and capable of turning data insights into actionable product opportunities. Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; comfortable making decisions amidst ambiguity. Agile & Project Management Knowledge: Understanding of agile product development cycles, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management. Customer Service Orientation: Maintains a strong focus on serving internal and external stakeholders effectively, balancing immediate needs with strategic long-term goals. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Familiar with web development technologies, such SharePoint and HTML.
#LI-Hybrid For positions in New York, NY, the salary range for this job posting is: $124,200.00- $198,600.00 For positions in Boston, MA, Philadelphia, PA, and Washington, DC, the salary range for this job posting is: $114,200.00- $182,750.00 The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
