Job Description

Responsible for the evaluative, quantitative and qualitative analysis in support of business needs and requirements. Responsible for technical support (troubleshooting, maintenance and enhancements) and consultation for a variety of database systems used througout the department.

Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze business data to uncover insights: Use advanced Excel, statistical methods, and analytics tools to identify trends, solve problems, and create meaningful metrics that drive business decisions
  • Create reports and forecasts: Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and forecasting models to track business performance and support strategic planning
  • Develop and improve data processes: Design efficient methods for extracting, analyzing, and presenting data to ensure consistent and accurate reporting across the organization
  • Present findings to leadership: Translate complex data analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders and business leaders
  • Lead analytical projects: Manage cross-functional project teams, develop business cases, and drive data-driven initiatives from concept to completion
  • Streamline business processes: Identify opportunities to improve workflows and procedures using data analysis and process improvement methodologies
  • Support technology systems: Maintain and enhance reporting systems, coordinate system upgrades, provide user training, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
  • Collaborate across departments: Work with various teams to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that support business objectives
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in business, economics, finance, or related, and 5 years quantitative/qualitative analysis; or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Experience working with relational database sytems (querying, analysis, reporting).
  • Solid written, interpersonal, and group communication skills.
  • Experience using a variety of business applications and analysis tools such as Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, statistical software, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP modules, and Cognos.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical concepts.
  • Excellent writing, communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience in providing guidance and direction to lower staff.
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and as part of a team to accomplish objectives.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • 5 years utility-related experience.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and automation (VBA/macros)
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from complex datasets
  • Experience with reporting and data visualization tools, particularly Power BI
  • Related business-specific experience may include:

    • Advanced relational database experience (MS Access, SQL, Oracle)
    • Experience performing advanced statistical analyses (such as predictive analytics, regression forecasting, data visualization and/or survival analytics)
    • Programming language experience (Visual Basic, SQL, VB.NET, HTML)
    • Advanced experience with SAP, BI tools


  • Process documentation and improvement experience
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and actionable recommendations

The pay range for this position is$79,200.00-$131,700.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
