The Project Leader plays a key role in supporting the strategy, execution, and successful delivery of complex projects within an operational semiconductor. This individual will focus on ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards, while fostering leadership and development among team members.
Core Market Sector This role is within the Critical Infrastructure Solutions (CIS) Business Unit. The ideal candidate will have expertise in MEP systems, with experience across vertical construction markets or prime/general contracting industries. Experience working in operational facility is a key component.
Responsibilities
The Project Leader 1 is responsible for the overall administration, organization and implementation of small electrical construction projects or parts of larger more complex project. Position Responsibilities:
- Report to Senior Project Managers in developing and managing schedules, budgets, and resources forprojects.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution.
- Oversee and manage MEP installations, including coordination and shop drawings.
- Gain hands-on experience with building processes, including fabrication, transportation, and installation.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and provide guidance to project teams.
- Conduct site surveys, cost studies, and budget forecasting, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures, quality improvements, and best practices implementation.
- Maintain regular communication with project teams and provide updates on progress.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Manage on-site preconstruction during RFQ process with estimates using software such as Accubid, P6 schedules.
- Ensure timely completion of punch-list items, as-built drawings, and training material accessibility.
- Manage permitting, licensing, and inspections to meet project timelines.
- Understand MEP supplier market and lead on site procurement team .
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics with 7+ years experience or 5+ years with a MS in Engineering degree
Requirements:
- Supervise Construction Project Managers and perform PM duties on construction projects.
- Maintain operational and administrative control for construction projects Extensive Project Management experience managing teams and monitoring multiple projects at any given time.
- Experienced in up-front project involvement with engineering firms,the client, and General Contractors.
- Proven track record of successful projects. Has Managed diverse groups on projects that involve multi-discipline knowledge for example; Fire Alarm, Communications, Security, AV, Power, and Instrumentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Can direct cross function teams to reach mutual agreement to meet business objectives.
- Able to work in a diverse environment, with personnel having a range of backgrounds.
- Strong analytical thinking to evaluate options and directions.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Can facilitate change and communicate effectively.
- Able to think abstractly, in both short and long term planning.
