How You'll Perform the Role

The Data Analyst will utilize syndicated market data and internal Novolex data to build, develop and create streamlined reporting processes, dashboards that provides insights into market intelligence, product trends, customer profitability, and margin improvement opportunities. The ability to consistently deliver statistical analysis/modeling to predict, measure, and interpret key business trends to provide actionable insights to senior management. The production of data-driven performance dashboards and management presentations including but not limited to diagnostic and prescriptive reporting, forecasting, and gap analysis is critical to optimizing business processes and customer success. Team members will combine an analytical approach with focused critical reasoning and contextual business knowledge to convert data into insightful market analysis around several core areas including:



  • Data Integration - Consistently manage data integration across multiple business subsidiaries (various ERPs) in order to produce consolidated and aggregated data structures to utilize in reporting, dashboarding, analysis, and presentations
  • Reporting- Provide and support accurate, actionable market reporting at a customer segment/market area level that can be utilized to support sales, financial, pricing and product portfolio decisions
  • Dashboarding - Utilize integrated data to produce cross-functional dashboards that provide and support KPI tracking, sales insights, financial trends, pricing action, and more
  • Analysis - Utilize aforementioned reporting to derive new insights that will result in profitable growth through pricing action, sales decisions, financial adjustments, and product position for Novolex. The ability to connect and translate data-based insights to contextual sales initiatives, customer-level decision making, and financial significance is extremely vital to this role
  • Ad Hoc Requirements - In addition to updating current reports the analyst will be asked to build out new reports as needs change. This will require knowledge on systems and Pactiv profitability which will be learned in the role.
  • Presentations - Utilize aforementioned reporting to provide recommendations to Foodservice Management team based on data insights


What We Need From You

  • BA/BS degree with an emphasis in Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field and 2-3 years' relevant experience preferred
  • Preferred experience in foodservice (packaging) distribution but not required
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple departments including but not limited to finance, sales, product development, logistics, and accounting to support data enablement initiatives
  • Strong work-ethic, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and logic-based reasoning skills to support working in a fast-paced and dynamic analytical environment
  • Technical proficiency and experience with tools/processes including but not limited to Excel modelling, Power BI dashboarding, SQL querying, ERP applications (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics) and more
