Apex Companies is hiring an Integration Director to work remotely within the United States.

Position Summary: The Integration Director leads and orchestrates all post-merger integration activities across diverse business units, ensuring strategic objectives and synergies are achieved. This role acts as a bridge between executive leadership, business functions, and newly acquired entities, driving successful transitions and cultural alignment in a project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead cross-functional integration teams to ensure seamless assimilation of acquired companies across industries.
  • Define integration strategy, scope, and execution plans aligned with deal rationale and business goals.
  • Develop and manage post-close integration playbooks, timelines, and KPIs tailored to project-based workflows.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, HR, IT, and Operations to establish integration priorities and mitigate risks.
  • Communicate regularly with executive stakeholders, providing progress updates and resolving escalated issues.
  • Identify and track synergies, cost savings, and performance metrics.
  • Champion cultural integration and employee engagement throughout transition periods, emphasizing collaboration across business units.
  • Conduct post-mortem assessments to inform integration improvements.
  • Preparation of status updates for the board.
  • This individual will oversee the full integration lifecycle, from closing through full operational and cultural assimilation, ensuring each transaction delivers long-term value and alignment with firm priorities.


Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Sciences
  • 10+ years of experience in M&A, business transformation, or strategic project management.
  • Proven success in leading large-scale integration initiatives across multiple functions.
  • Working knowledge of the integration process, encompassing integration planning and implementation, and post-integration stabilization
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with change management frameworks and tools.
  • Experience in establishing and managing a Project Management Office (PMO) to drive integration efforts and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Able to travel up to 30%.


Preferred Attributes:



  • Experience in managing national acquisitions and integrations.
  • Background in private equity or corporate strategy environments.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or change leadership (e.g., Prosci).
