This 90-Day, 40 hour/week, On-Campus, Temporary (Mid September - Mid December) Technical Specialist in our Card Services Department may be for you!.
The Technical Specialist will operate multiple specialized computer applications to assist in daily work, including Genetec Security Center, Atrium, CardExchange, EpiSuite, T2, Typo3, Informant,Windows Azure, BluePrint, AMI, StarRes, and PAX terminals. The specialist will configure mag stripe cards, update iClass readers, upload data in various applications to grant/deny access, and upload JayBucks to accounts. The specialist will draft web page revisions, implement approved changes, and create user data reports to assess communication effectiveness. The specialist will program PAX terminal changes and manage Atrium charges, ranging from student printing to meal plans, special events, and student organization fundraisers.
Additionally, the specialist will:
* Issue new or replacement cards using numerous criteria and card formats.
* Test integrity of cards to ensure working order using RFID and mag stripe scanners.
* Partner with MyIT to update relevant database information/errors.
* Cross train on the specialized software and procedures used by the Technical Specialist - Parking Services.

independently with little supervision. The candidate should demonstrate a high degree of technical aptitude, ability, and knowledge, as well
as the willingness to learn new technical and non-technical skills
Education & Experience:
*Associate's degree, plus two years of related experience, Bachelor's degree preferred, Or related work experience
* Knowledge of relational databases.
* Strong technical background with good analytical and mathematical skills.
* Intermediate proficiency in MS Office products, including Excel and Outlook.
* Must be at least 21 years of age.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Ability to quickly learn to operate specific software applications and to assimilate how datasets impact related systems and functions.
* Knowledge/familiarity with digital signage and specialized computer applications, including EpiSuite, T2, ColorID card production,
Atrium, POS/Infor (Vivonet), and/or Genetec Security Center preferred.
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing.
* Interpersonal/human relation skills and ability to work with a diverse group of customers.
* Ability to complete administrative responsibilities, including managing Outlook calendar/meetings, answering telephone calls, and
handling cash register operations including making deposits.
* Ability to self-start and self-supervise daily tasks, sometimes under stressful, volatile, or confusing situations.
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to critically assess inquiries and provide appropriate information or resolution using
judgment and available resources.
* Ability to coordinate and prioritize work with multiple and conflicting demands in a fast-paced stressful environment.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
