The QC Manufacturing Support Supervisor will provide Quality Control Supervisory support for Food Safety & Quality requirements. This role ensures that Jel Sert products meet corporate, customer, consumer, and regulatory requirements. Liaison between Jel Sert Quality and Jel Sert Manufacturing departments. The prescribed responsibilities apply to Jel Sert Headquarters and Jel Sert DC1/P3 locations.

This floating supervisor position is scheduled to work 1st shift (7:00 am-3:30 pm) Monday through Friday and Saturdays as scheduled. Additionally, this role has responsibilities to cover 2nd shift (2:00 pm -10:00 pm) and/or 3rd shift (10:00 pm-6:00 am) when necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Fulfills flexible QC Supervisory needs across all three shifts as needed.



  • Responsible for leading and conducting new hire onboarding and training for QC staff.



  • Assists in upholding HACCP Food Safety and Quality systems by executing established plans, conducting test monitoring, and verifying compliance with HACCP and Quality protocols under the guidance of the Sr. Engineer.



  • Identify and address operational and product quality concerns by supporting the CAPA program when necessary (quality/food safety investigations related to high-profile product non-compliances, etc.).



  • Monitoring Production Department GMP compliance & non-compliance corrective actions.



  • Oversees and executes the duties as the Radiation Safety Officer.



  • Lead QC Line Qualification & Engineering study activities.



  • Provides support for operational systems such as Redzone, HSMS, Wise, and others as required.



  • Oversees and supports operations and personnel involved in Incoming Ingredient Inspection and Sampling, in alignment with Supply Chain requirements.



  • Support and manage visits from outside vendors such as Pest Control Contractor and Sanitation Chemical Contractor.



  • Provides support and assumes oversight responsibilities for the Environmental Monitoring Program (Neogen Analytics) as needed.



  • Other duties as assigned.





QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



  • Five years' experience minimum in food, pharmaceutical, or fine chemicals manufacturing required.

  • PCQI and HACCP certification required. [Certifications can be acquired during employment].



  • Root Cause Analysis, knowledge of Dietary Supplement and Pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements, and training will be beneficial and will be encouraged.



  • Principles of FSMA (Intentional Adulteration), GFSI (SQF or BRC), and GMPs (Regulator Food Products, Medical Foods, and Dietary Supplements) knowledge is extremely beneficial.



  • Knowledge of one or more of the following: FDA, USDA, or TTB government regulations.



  • Knowledge of Food Safety schemes for HACCP or HARPC. CFRs 11, 111, 117, 121, and 211.

  • Capable of working in a team-based environment with limited direct supervision.



  • Ability to lead and supervise the activities of others.



  • English is required; Bilingual Spanish is extremely beneficial.



  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other company systems as required.




BENEFITS & SALARY

The Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. The minimum compensation for the QC Manufacturing Support Supervisor is $68,584 annually. Compensation is determined by a candidate's experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. Actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon an offer. Office/Manufacturing environment



  • The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and exposure to allergens.

  • The worker is subject to hazards, which include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving machines and forklift trucks, and/or exposure to heat/humidity.



  • The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.



  • Move within and between warehouse, production, and office facilities.





FOOD SAFETY and QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Follow applicable procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain documented programs that drive CCPs and CQPs.
  • HACCP & Food Quality Plan maintenance.
  • PCQI Certified (Preventive Control Qualified Individual).
  • Back up to QC Supervisors - all shifts
