Job Description:

Southwest Airlines is looking for a strategic and driven Manager of Marketing Activation to lead our Audience and Quality Control Team within Marketing. This Team of technical experts plays a critical role in executing high-impact campaigns across email, push notifications, SMS, and more, and this dedicated Leader will guide daily operations, prioritize work, and drive long-term growth. In this role, you'll oversee audience development and quality assurance, ensuring campaigns are precisely targeted, executed, and aligned with business goals. You'll bring marketing technology expertise, ideally with experience in SQL, audience building, and database management--familiarity with Adobe Campaign is a plus. If you're passionate about advancing Southwest's Marketing tech, building scalable processes, and championing & developing a talented Team toward a clear roadmap, this is a high-impact opportunity to shape how Southwest connects with its Customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Campaign Development and Quality Control teams, focused on fostering a collaborative, innovative environment

  • Lead, support, and influence the achievement of the mission, goals, and objectives of the Marketing department and Company

  • Design and implement strategies and processes that enhance campaign targeting, delivery quality, and operational efficiency

  • Ensure the team delivers accurate, timely, and customer-aligned messaging across all outbound channels

  • Provide technical and thought leadership on marketing technology tools, data management, and outbound channel optimization within the role's oversight

  • Deliver technology solutions using best practices to achieve strong team productivity

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships and credibility while influencing and driving change across respective business areas including Marketing, Digital Experience, Technology and Customer Experience

  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of front-end development and technical implementation practices, concepts, methodologies, tools, and trends

  • Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

  • Skilled in motivating, developing, and directing people as they work while identifying the best people for the job

  • Skilled in team capacity planning and project management

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines

  • Ability to provide tactical leadership for team(s)

  • Ability to use appropriate motivation and influence techniques to achieve desired team results

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments to influence business decisions

  • Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Required:

  • Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)

  • Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:

    • Marketing technologies, including audience segmentation and campaign development

    • Quality control and assurance best practices

Preferred:

  • Hands on experience with Adobe Campaign, Audience Manager, or similar tools

Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time

  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits

  • Competitive market salary from$122,200 - $135,800per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
