Position Responsibilities:
- Ensure adequate training of mechanics on shift.
- Work hands-on with the maintenance staff and not be afraid to get your hands dirty
- Assign, review and ensure proper completion of repair orders by all technicians, this will be done daily utilizing RTA and other tracking methods.
- Trains and assists Mechanics on methods for diagnosing and repairing mechanical equipment.
- Work with maintenance manager to provide daily communications to operations on down equipment and operational needs.
- Promote collaboration between and among personnel.
- Communicates regularly with the District Maintenance Manager and all shop personnel, daily documented tailgates.
- Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget responsibility will be assigned for certain lines of spending.
- Perform quality control inspection and work observations.
- Ensures adherence to the corporate safety program.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have excellent working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance techniques.
- Experience with heavy equipment and yellowiron is a plus
- Post-collections waste experience is a plus
- Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division, and district objectives.
- Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
Requirements:
- 3+ years mechanic experience with equipment maintenance and repair. (Waste industry experience desired)
- Ability to train and motivate staff a must.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Valid drivers license
