Summary Job Description: Scheduling Coordinator 40 Hours Weekly, Full Time, Dayshift Louisville Cardiology Group Louisville Cardiology Group is conveniently located on the Baptist Health Louisville campus near the corner of Breckenridge Lane and Kresge Way. Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Louisville Cardiology Group offers services including, but not limited to: Cardiac Catherization Interventional Cardiology PTCA Atherectomy Intracoronary Stent Pacemaker Implantation and follow up surveillance Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) Transplant Biopsy Peripheral Vascular Disease evaluations and treatment Research and Data Management Diagnostic Imaging Services Job Summary: Scheduling Clerk will schedule appointments and diagnostic tests/procedures for all patients at Louisville Cardiology. These may include, but are not limited to: follow-up appointments, physician consultations, hospital follow-up appointments and diagnostic tests/procedures. The Scheduling Clerk will obtain any required registration, insurance coverage information, referrals and or pre-certifications needed. Scheduling Clerk will confirm patients' diagnostic appointments. Updates and maintains hospital cards and faxes medical information as needed. Scheduling Clerk is also responsible for verifying accuracy of the provider's schedule in the electronic scheduling system. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time. 1. Effective communication. 2. Demonstrates accountability and ownership of role. 3. Exhibits proficiency in regards to computer and administrative skills. 4. Demonstrates ability to perform all job tasks described in the Job Summary. 5. Displays ability to effectively and accurately schedule patient appointments- including but not limited to follow-up appointments, physician consultations, hospital follow-up appointments and diagnostic tests/procedures. 6. Maintains and updates hospital cards accordingly. 7. Verifies accuracy of patient registration and pre-certification/referral requirements as defined by the patient's insurance payer. 8. Fax medical information as needed. Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required: One to three years clerical experience in a physician office required. Computer knowledge such as Medical Office and Scheduling Applications preferred.
